[OS X Emacs] AUCTeX and undesired completions

Hi.

I don't know whether to submit this to a TeX-related list, or to an emacs-related list. But anyway, here's a problem I seem to run into with Aquamacs, rather than GNU Emacs on Linux. I'm using AUCTeX in both situations.

Anyway, I like to use \le, rather than \leq, for the ≤ sign. There are times when I type \le, and Aquamacs wants to set it up as the beginning of a \left--\right template. Unfortunately, this is episodic; sometimes it happens, and sometimes it doesn't. Other than training myself to use \leq, is there some way to disable this?

Thanks.
