[OS X TeX] TeXShop Editor

You change the transparency like this:

Open the terminal window:

Enter these to set transparency for the console, source and preview 
windows:

defaults write TeXShop ConsoleWindowAlpha 0.75

defaults write TeXShop SourceWindowAlpha 0.75

defaults write TeXShop PreviewWindowAlpha 0.75

.75 is just an example.

You can also change the background color.
