[OS X TeX] dots in Texshop

This seems to make the difference. My result was achieved obviously 
with:

### /usr/bin/pstopdf /tmp/altpdflatex.1046-1108559991/grid.ps 
/tmp/altpdflatex.1046-1108559991/grid.pdf

Switching to gs as distiller I see the same dots starting at about 
500%. So the best advice seems to be: if you have a Mac OS X with its 
own distiller (Panther = Mac OS X 10.3), use it!
