[OS X TeX] Latex file locks

I've suddenly run into problems with a latex file in TexShop:it refuses to save and claims the file is locked. If I quit TS and restart the computer, I can get one edit saved, but the next edit gives me the error message below. I am on TS 4.51, OS 11.0.1.
