svg2pdf

Postby DanyUP » Sun Jan 16, 2011 4:50 pm

Hello to all!
I just installed svg2pdf from MacPort and I want to use it through the command
Code: Select all
\DeclareGraphicsRule{.svg}{pdf}{.pdf}{`svg2pdf #1}

The problem is that when typescripting, TeXShop can't find it because it's not in the shell path used by TeXShop. However svg2pdf it's in the default path of Mac OS Shell...

There is a way to add /opt/local/bin to TexShop shell path?
(I don't want to add svg2pdf or a link to it on my /usr/bin folder)

Thanks!

Howdy,

Could you try
Code: Select all
\DeclareGraphicsRule{.svg}{pdf}{.pdf}{`/opt/local/bin/svg2pdf #1}

and see if that works?

Also, with the latest versions of the graphicx package (which loads the epstopdf package automatically when using pdflatex) you should use something like
Code: Select all
\epstopdfDeclareGraphicsRule{.svg}{pdf}{.pdf}{/opt/local/bin/svg2pdf #1 \OutputFile}
\PrependGraphicsExtensions{.svg}

or maybe (I don't have svg2pdf)
Code: Select all
\epstopdfDeclareGraphicsRule{.svg}{pdf}{.pdf}{/opt/local/bin/svg2pdf #1}
\PrependGraphicsExtensions{.svg}

Hope this helps.
Good Luck,
