Thanks.  Tried that and reproduced the same problem with missing menus.

Turns out it has to do with VNC - I access my 10.5 machine remotely  
via Apple's VNC.

Jean-Philippe, is this what you did when you experienced the "missing  
submenu" issue with Aquamacs?
