[OS X Emacs] Aquamacs] - update packages?

While it technically works for most packages, I wouldn't recommend changing files inside the .app bundle, as you'll lose your changes when upgrading Aquamacs.
The Aquamacs manual and the Wiki list paths in the ~/Library hierarchy that are meant to take your own packages.
Out of interest - is the latest org-mode much better than what's included?
