If ~/.tcshrc exists, then ~/.cshrc is not read. Otherwise it is.
If ~/.login exists and it's a login shell, then ~/.login is read.

Csh and tcsh are very simple, by far not that complicated as bash.

GNU Emacs' *shell* buffer uses ~/.emacs_tcsh to set up itself.
