That's what I wind up doing as well, but I'm sympathetic to xioni's
question. There are times it interferes with my ability to have two
windows side-by-side looking at the same buffer for editing purposes.
I generally wind up going to the buffer and splitting it, but my
muscle memory doesn't run into problems like that when using emacs in
a remote linux console.
