[OS X Emacs] syntax highlighting problem on Aquamacs/cocoa

Hello all,

the attached file is part of scel - an emacs interface to the
supercollider programming environment

I am experiencing problems with the Syntax Highlighting, this both in
Aquamacs and cocoa emacs

the thing is that it sometimes highlights everything as supposed, some
other times it leaves staff un-highlighted.. this without warning

I posted in the sc mailing list and it appears that no other has similar
problems,

what could be wrong in my machine ??
