[OS X Emacs] Aquamacs does not like el-get

No, it does not load them automatically, but all subdirectories are added to the load path.

Yes, easy.  From the manual:


> Disabling a plug-in or a load-path
> If an (emtpy) file named .ignore exists in a specific path, Aquamacs does not load any site-start and site-prestartsource files in this or descending paths and does not add that or subsequent paths to the load-path.
