[OS X Emacs] Aquamacs 2.4 problem with fonts/colors in latex mode (and others?)

Thanks tor the hint, but I have tried microsoft sans serif  and about 20 other fonts. The problem remains the same.

Customizing font-lock-constant-face from "dark cyan" to "dark green" lets the text between curly braces reappear (in dark green). The color is the problem after all?
