[OS X Emacs] Aquamacs and JSON

Hi all,
   I want to view JSON files on emacs. I use Aquamacs on MAC OSX. I have
downloaded the json.el file. But, I am not sure where to place or how to
configure my Aquamacs so that it can recognize JSON files and display is
nicely....record by record.

Currently, if I open JSON file in aquamacs, I see the text, but, not in a
nice record by record, indented format.

Please let me know your suggestions.
