Great, another increment of knowledge.  Not the whole story yet: I don't use tvbrowser.
Perhaps this behavior is buried in some Apple framework, or in now-deprecated
usages of older frameworks that have been imperfectly adapted to work in Mojave.
I don't know enough about Mac application building to point at what it might be.

Anyone? Bueller?
