[OS X Emacs] Aquamacs as editor for git commit

Dear All,

I would appreciate help with how to configure the git command, to open
Aquamacs.app as the text editor to edit commit messages. I've tried:
git config --global core.editor Aquamacs

Now, in my
~/.gitconfig
it's
editor = Aquamacs

But this doesn't work.
