[Mac OS X TeX] Outliner, Database, Word as Editor

Hello,
Thinking of equivalent LaTeX solutions to most everything I use, the issue
of editors, outlines and databases came up.

Which Mac OS X database program would you recommend for use with LaTeX
code? PHP/MySQL sounds like an interesting choice. Anyone using it to
generate LaTeX?

Also, does anybody know of a good Mac OS X outliner that will work directly
with LaTeX, like an outlining equivalent to BBEdit?

Despite all its faults, I tend to use M$ Word to build outlines and write
text from them. Anyone has advice on using Word as a LaTeX editor?

Thanks in advance for your help.
