I think I have the same wrong setting:

'xterm': unknown terminal type   [ so crashes texconfig ]

Error opening terminal: xterm   [ so crash lynx & dselect ]

WARNING: terminal is not fully functional  [ so warns less ]


can you explain your fix ?
