[Mac OS X TeX] What is the function of the "Tags" menu?

Hi John

Its for quick navigation around your document when editing.
  If you insert a line

%:Chapter 2


then a line will appear saying "Chapter 2" in the tags menu
and selecting it will move you automatically to that point
in the document.  I have got into the habit of
every time I do a \section{blah blah} putting a %:blah blah
immediately above it.
