[OS X TeX] pdf include

This sounds like 'draft' mode.
Does your \documentclass (or other package) include
a keyword 'draft' as an optional argument ?
Daly-Kopka (p.335) says:
"all options requested in the \documentclass statement are
designated *global*; they are considered to apply to all
subsequent packages, but not to ... "
and goes on to explain the exceptions to this rule.
