[OS X TeX] installing t1-fonts

CM-super are not exactly tex fonts (no tfm and no vf). They are
Postcript-type1 substitution for EC fonts : EC tfms are used (if you say
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}), but at the driver step, cm-super, in pfb format,
are used instead of EC mf/pk.

If you need the T1 encoding, computer modern, and type1 format (for
producing pdf...) you will enjoy cm-super. But english language doesn't need
T1 8 bit encoding...
