[OS X TeX] Unicode to LaTeX conversion

Hello;

I'm in for another question:
Does any one have some (free) source code to transform a unicode string 
(holding roman type caracter) into a 7bit ascii string with escape 
sequence for accent...

If on top of that the source is in C or Obj-C it will be great (but 
still I'm interested in any implementation in other language if they can 
help me to write a Obj-C method).
