[OS X TeX] newbie question--printing options?

Newbie Question:  Printing Options

On TiBook, from X11/WindowMaker I find that I can take a latex file,
e.g. test.tex, and run pdflatex on it

pdflatex test

which produces  test.pdf directly.  Then I can 'open' that result

open test.pdf

which opens the file for viewing using Preview.  That pops me back
into OS X.  From Preview, I can also print the file.

What are the printing alternatives? especially from X11?  My printer
is an Epson Stylus Photo 895 (inkjet), connected directly to the TiBook
by USB.  Printing from OS X apps (Mail, Internet Explorer and now 
Preview)
has never been a problem--basically I just plugged in the printer and it 
worked.
