[OS X TeX] Ghostscript 7 over 6 Ok?

I did exactly this, but now I can't use thumbpdf anymore. It uses
a device png16 which is not available under Ghostscript 7. Is there
anything I can do to get the thumbpdf functionality back? I also
tried to uninstall GS 7, but the GS 7 package for the new i-Installer
doesn't support uninstalling the package.
