[OS X TeX] Where to put package?

Hi.  I'm sorry if this is a FAQ.  I have teTeX installed with Fink.  If 
I want to add packages (.sty file), do I add them to

/sw/etc/texmf.local/   or   /sw/share/texmf-local/   or  ???

so that they don't get clobbered when teTeX is updated?
