I'm a loser! Still everything (I tried) works, except: updmap does not 
accept a series of --disable/--enable and of course no mix.

And there is one issue with the map files selector: a RESET does not 
lead to a new try but to the use of the proposed maps!

I'll try a new install .... as BASIC!


(Of course computers can't read my mind, but Mail knows *before* I 
write it the contents of my eMail and choose accidentally the correct 
signature!)
