Back in the beginning of the thread:

So at one stage you had something installed correctly.

This also shows that your path should contain 
"/usr/local/teTeX/bin/powerpc-apple-darwin6.8/" rather than the one you 
have with "...7.3" .

Don't worry, we'll get there!
