[OS X TeX] Beginner's problem with TeXShop and .eps figures

In the "Typeset" Menu, choose "Tex and Ghostscript" instead of "Pdftex".

The former can use ".pdf", ".png" and ".jpg" graphics, the latter can 
use ".eps".

Or you could convert the eps images to pdf ...
