These instructions are out of date.

A better place is

	~/Library/texmf/fonts/type1

A correct place is

	~/Library/texmf/fonts/map/dvipdfm/

	~/Library/texmf/fonts/map/dvips/

That is OK.

Instead of /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf (which will be overwritten when 
you upgrade your TeX) use ~/Library/texmf. You won't need to have 
administrator access to do that, nor do you need to run texhash. You 
need to run "sudo updmap".
