Making sure that lines align on facing pages, and recto and verso pages 
(front and back of the same sheet) is known as typesetting on a grid. 
Frank Mittelbach may have tried this under LaTeX, Context has a more 
robust support for it, it even includes a description of why you want 
this (especially on thin paper).
