Of course you were right. I put the fonts in the ghostscript fonts 
folder, added some lines in Fontmap.GS and ran texhash, and now 
everything (almost) works fine. I still don't konw why it embeds a bold 
font when only a non-bold roman font is used, but this is probably due 
to some misnaming during the generation of the metrics file with 
fontinst.
