[OS X TeX] pdfscreen and acrobat

I have been using pdfscreen for my presentations for a long time and
just realized that it doesn't live happily with Acrobat (Reader 6 and
"full" 5). When I open the presentation in either of those the menu
bar AND the OSX Dock dissappears. Frequently the tool bars dissappear
as well, but I can sometimes get them back by using various convoluted
routes through the online help. The reason I haven't noticed it before
is that Preview doesn't suffer from that problem. What is going on
here?
