"LaTeX: A Document Preparation System" by Leslie Lamport (the original 
LaTeX manual, by LaTeX's original author)

"A Guide to LaTeX" by Kopka & Daly (an alternative LaTeX manual, 
generally more popular)

"The LaTeX Companion" by Frank Mittelbach et al. (the guide through the 
jungle of available LaTeX packages)

All these books published by Addison-Wesley.
