I can confirm that: when opening PDF files, GraphicConverter converts
them to bitmaps, and if you use it to converting the PDF file to EPS
the resulting EPS will only contain a bitmap image. You specify the
resolution of the bitmap in Preferences > Opening > Formats > PDF,
and the default value is 72 dpi (with 32-bits color depth).
The same doesn't happen when opening EPS files: GraphicConverter
allows to choose, in references > Opening > Formats > PDF, the EPS
interpreter: Apple's pstopdf, GhostScript at /usr/local/bin/gs,
Classic MacGhostView, Classic EPStoPICT.
Regarding the trial period: it manifests itself through a time-out
splash screen. When you've used the software without registering for
less than one-month, say (I'm not sure about the exact threshold),
the time-out period is 10 s; then it becomes 30 s, and so forth.
