[OS X TeX] Multiple files, AlphaX and TeXShop

Hi, I've started trying AlphaX as my external editor with TeXShop as 
the previewer.  I'm having the following problem:

Open file1.tex
LaTeX from within Alpha (using Cmd-T); this works fine
Open file2.tex (now both files are open within Alpha)
LaTeX from within Alpha --> doesn't work.  It reprocesses file1 
instead (so the pdf window for file1 shows up and the console log for 
file1 shows up.)

What am I doing wrong?
