Hmm, on my machine Safari saves it with a txt extension?

No same result. (Even if I create a new document with BBedit/AlphaX 
and save it as tex-perf.sh):


$ sudo time ./tex-perf.sh
./tex-perf.sh: No such file or directory
         0.02 real         0.00 user         0.00 sys
