Once I came across
a non-free tool called TerminologyExtractor:

This looks like it can help you with identifying multiword compounds (they
call them collocations).

The site has nice examples of the tool's output
and a clear explanation how the tool works, but it is nonfree and ridiculuosly
Windows oriented.  Anybody knows of similar free software?
