Both TeX source and the LOG file give no hint that URW++ Nimbus fonts 
are used. How do you know they're used? Do you have xpdf installed? If 
so you have pdffonts, a command line utility, that list the fonts in a 
PDF file (there are Perl scripts too in the public domain). The LOG 
file shows only PostScript fonts. They should render fine in every PDF 
viewer. If a PK font would be used, it would be recorded in the LOG 
file.

Are you sure you saw the same file in different viewers?
