[OS X TeX] Carbon Emacs getting AUCTeX

AUCTeX is installed, but *un*usable, because tex-site.el sets

(defvar TeX-lisp-directory 
"/Volumes/Emacs/Emacs.app/Contents/Resources/site-lisp/auctex"

It's not probable that something would be mounted there. And in 
site-start.el no (require 'tex-site) can be found, so AUCTeX won't be 
loaded.
