Wouldn't you like to keep your repository of site specific lisp 
addi(c)tions at /Library/Application Support/Emacs? More à la Mac OS X? 
Fink does not remove files it does not know, so it's likely that your 
additions at /usr/local/share/emacs/site-lisp will survive an upgrade 
or possible removal of the Fink package, but why not the other way?
