Do not put a longtable in a table environment, longtable is the outer 
environment.

Not reaading the manual? ;)

The table environment is itself a floating environment, which is the 
root cause of the trouble of breaking tables across pages. Longtable is 
a complete replacement for a tabular within a table environment.
