[OS X TeX] Texshop : TeX + Ghostscript ???

Hi

In the preferences of Texshop, we have the choice between two distillers
:  Panther or Ghostscript .

1) also why in the menu Typset : Tex + Ghoscript  ?
Tex + Distiller is perhaps preferable or tex + dvips + distiller  .

2) is it possible to know the distiller  with  file.log ?
