[OS X TeX] Equations in non-TeX applications

I didn't really follow the discussion, but there were problems to edit 
equations generated by equation editor and pasted as pdfs in non-TeX 
programs?

LinkBack (http://www.linkbackproject.org/) looks like an interesting 
project in this respect.
