I think the problem is the one mentioned by Frank Stengel a couple of  
messages before : pst-pdf uses the bounding-box indicated just after  
"\begin{pspicture}" to put the picture with the right extent. Maybe  
it would be useful to put the drawing instructions in a "\psframebox 
{...}" to see if the dimensions of "pspicture" fits the picture, and  
to "comment" \psframebox when the bounding box suits your needs. It's  
a tip Herbert Voss indicated to me in comp.text.tex a few days ago.

By the way, after having tested pst-pdf on couple of pstricks  
pictures (I must mention that I use another package most of the time,  
mfpic), it seems that it works fine, but (New)pdftricks is more  
useful to me : it's also reliable, it produces on-the-fly separate  
pictures you can re-use later, independently, without bothering too  
much about their bouding box.
