teTeX is a general TeX release containing many packages for TeX and 
LaTeX, allowing to work with pdfTeX or with intermediate DVI file 
output and further processing. gwTeX has some extra packages and fonts, 
it's an addition to teTeX. Gerben Wierda recently described the parts 
of gwTeX in some detail on this list, just look into the archive!
