[OS X TeX] question about the geometry package

I am working with TeXShop 2.03.
The geometry package seems to work correctly when typesetting with  
pdftex, but not with tex+ghostscript.
The paper dimensions don't seem to get passed along to dvips and/or  
ps2pdf.

Here is a minimal example:

%%%%%%%
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage[a5paper]{geometry}

\begin{document}
Blabla
\end{document}
%%%%%%%


This typesets ok with pdftex, but produces an a4 page with tex 
+ghostscript.
