I have never tried this before, so I don't know 
whether it's worth the trouble or not . . . I 
didn't know that it's technically difficult 
either, at least not any more difficult than 
other things I try on TeX.  For me, the main 
reason to try it was to reduce the amount of 
whitespace and total pages used in a document.  I 
find that figures I use are often surrounded by a 
''sea'' of whitespace -- being that I teach about 
our environment, I try to tweak things as much as 
I can to reduce unnecessary white space in my TeX 
docs.  For some figures, I thought that I could 
wrap text around them to do so.  Maybe this is a 
false assumption on my part!
