[OS X TeX] multi lines

In mathmode one should use the commands

\,
\;
\quad
\qquad

or

\newcommand{\msp}[1][1]{\mspace{#1mu}}%works also with negative space

\hphantom{That much space do I need.} is also very handy


Some commands may only be available when using amsmath, but I don't 
know any mathematician who isn't using it.
