[OS X TeX] Latest TeX - problem with TeX and GhostScript?

I tried typesetting using TeXshop and your latest release 2005/09/07,
using "TeX and GhostScript" rather than "pdftex" (as I need to keep
compatibility with colleagues who have older TeX versions).

The log told me:
This script has been deprecated. Please call

     simpdftex latex --maxpfb

instead.

I then changed TeXShop's preferences for Engine
from
altpdflatex --maxpfb
to
simpdftex latex --maxpfb

This then causes a different error in the log, as below:

Did I misunderstand what to do? Or is there something else wrong?
