[OS X TeX] update

Given the recent LaTex release I want to update my Tex. I originally
downloaded the installation file from the CTAN (~systems/mac/mactex).
Can I just use the i-Installer to update it (if yes, do I have to
make any special settings, or does i-Installer find my installation
automatically?), or does i-Installer update only installations made
with i-Installer?
