[OS X TeX] cmss vs. \sfdefault font question

I don't see anything with bsr in:

/usr/local/teTeX/bin/i386-apple-darwin8.6.1/updmap

or in:

/usr/local/teTeX/bin/i386-apple-darwin8.6.1/updmap-sys

Am I looking in the right place?
